R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Gene Rush is retiring as Hockley County auditor in |
|
|
2009, drawing to a close a career with county government that has |
|
|
spanned more than two decades; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A native of Levelland, Mr. Rush enjoyed a varied |
|
|
career before he was hired as county auditor in 1987; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of his exemplary 22-year tenure, Mr. |
|
|
Rush has distinguished himself as Hockley County's chief financial |
|
|
recordkeeper and compliance officer; he has been responsible for |
|
|
the oversight of the books and records of all county departments and |
|
|
officials and for enforcing the laws governing county finances; in |
|
|
fulfilling his duties, he has earned the respect and admiration of |
|
|
his colleagues and the public; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Rush's dedication, professionalism, and |
|
|
commitment to excellence have greatly benefited the citizens of |
|
|
Hockley County, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career |
|
|
well spent as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Gene Rush on his retirement as |
|
|
Hockley County auditor and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Rush as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
