R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Students, staff, and faculty of Houston Community |
|
College--Southeast rendered invaluable aid to countless |
|
individuals in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike; and |
|
WHEREAS, Steadfast in their dedication to the community, HCC |
|
volunteers operated a FEMA point of distribution on campus that |
|
provided easy access to vital supplies for residents of Houston's |
|
East End; thanks to the assistance provided by these generous |
|
Texans, many residents of the Bayou City were able to have their |
|
vital food and water needs met; and |
|
WHEREAS, Times of great crisis often inspire noble actions, |
|
and Hurricane Ike proved to be no exception, as evidenced by the |
|
extraordinary relief efforts of those associated with Houston |
|
Community College--Southeast; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend the faculty, staff, and students of |
|
Houston Community College--Southeast who participated in the |
|
relief efforts following Hurricane Ike and extend to them sincere |
|
gratitude for their hard work and dedication; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the college as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
