R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Ginger Tonne has made a positive difference in the
  lives of Richardson students as president of the Richardson
  Independent School District Council of Parent-Teacher
  Associations; and
         WHEREAS, Organized in 1959, the council is made up of 56 local
  PTA chapters, which award more than $50,000 in scholarships to
  students and teachers each year; and
         WHEREAS, In her role as head of the organization, Ms. Tonne is
  responsible for directing many important PTA initiatives,
  including the Used Book Fair, Teens in Leadership Training,
  Emergency Medical Fund, RISD Clothes Closet, and Car Seat Safety
  Project; in addition, she has helped to provide training for PTA
  leadership and participated in the National PTA Reflections
  Program; and
         WHEREAS, She has further enriched area schools through her
  support of the RISD College and Career Fair, RISD Council District
  Play, high school symphony program, and all-district choir
  performances; and
         WHEREAS, Ginger Tonne has brought diligence, ingenuity, and
  care to her work with the PTA, and the children of Richardson ISD
  have truly benefited from her efforts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Ginger Tonne, president of the Richardson
  Independent School District Council of Parent-Teacher
  Associations, for her service to Richardson schools and extend to
  her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Tonne as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
