R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
  meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends
  of William Butcher of Houston, who passed away on July 4, 2007, at
  the age of 69; and 
         WHEREAS, A native of the Bayou City, Bill Butcher was the son
  of William and Lucy Butcher; he graduated from Spring Branch High
  School in 1956 and went on to serve a notable 30-year tenure as a
  building inspector with the City of Houston; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Butcher was devoted to his family; he shared
  nearly half a century of marriage with his wife, Brenda, with whom
  he had three children, John, Mary Ann, and Bridget; in his free
  time, he enjoyed doting on his grandchildren, hunting with his
  brother, traveling with his wife, and cheering on the Houston
  Astros; he was also a valued member of Spring Branch Community
  Church; and
       WHEREAS, Although Bill Butcher is deeply missed, memories of
  this beloved Texan will be forever cherished by all those who held
  him dear; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of William Butcher and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
  Brenda; to his son, John Butcher; to his daughters, Mary Ann
  Henderson and her husband, Steve, and Bridget Todd and her husband,
  Toby; to his grandchildren; to his brother, Charles Butcher, and
  his wife, Terry; and to his other relatives and many friends; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of William
  Butcher.
