R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and |
|
meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends |
|
of William Butcher of Houston, who passed away on July 4, 2007, at |
|
the age of 69; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of the Bayou City, Bill Butcher was the son |
|
of William and Lucy Butcher; he graduated from Spring Branch High |
|
School in 1956 and went on to serve a notable 30-year tenure as a |
|
building inspector with the City of Houston; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Butcher was devoted to his family; he shared |
|
nearly half a century of marriage with his wife, Brenda, with whom |
|
he had three children, John, Mary Ann, and Bridget; in his free |
|
time, he enjoyed doting on his grandchildren, hunting with his |
|
brother, traveling with his wife, and cheering on the Houston |
|
Astros; he was also a valued member of Spring Branch Community |
|
Church; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although Bill Butcher is deeply missed, memories of |
|
this beloved Texan will be forever cherished by all those who held |
|
him dear; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of William Butcher and |
|
extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, |
|
Brenda; to his son, John Butcher; to his daughters, Mary Ann |
|
Henderson and her husband, Steve, and Bridget Todd and her husband, |
|
Toby; to his grandchildren; to his brother, Charles Butcher, and |
|
his wife, Terry; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, |
|
be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of William |
|
Butcher. |
