R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Through quick thinking and decisive action, |
|
|
fifth-grader Angela Grisham saved the life of a fellow student at |
|
|
Sour Lake Elementary School; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Students from the school were eating in the |
|
|
cafeteria when Miss Grisham noticed that a third-grade student was |
|
|
choking on his cereal; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, After calling for a teacher and patting the boy on |
|
|
the back, Miss Grisham, who is 10 years old, applied the Heimlich |
|
|
maneuver on the stricken child and dislodged the food that was |
|
|
blocking his airway; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Callye and David Windsor of Sour |
|
|
Lake, Miss Grisham has been recognized for her heroism with an |
|
|
Outstanding Citizenship Award from the Sour Lake school board; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Angela Grisham's lifesaving actions helped to avert |
|
|
a potential tragedy, and she is a source of great pride to her |
|
|
family, school, and community; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Angela Grisham for rescuing another |
|
|
student and extend to her sincere best wishes for a bright and |
|
|
promising future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Miss Grisham as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
