R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love |
|
|
and shared experiences, and Dennis and Margaret Boerner of |
|
|
Pittsburg celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on |
|
|
April 4, 2009; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dennis Henry Boerner and the former Maggie Humes |
|
|
were joined in matrimony in 1959 at a ceremony held in San Antonio; |
|
|
through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that |
|
|
has been made even richer with the addition of four children and |
|
|
their spouses, Ben and Denise Boerner, Kelly Boerner Kastner and |
|
|
David Kastner, Monica Boerner and Wanda Martinez, and Connie and |
|
|
Mike Bingham, as well as nine grandchildren, Chris LaPlant and his |
|
|
wife, Mallory, Megan, Marshall, and Alyson Kastner, Rachel, Ryan, |
|
|
and Reagan Boerner, Chloe Boerner-Martinez, and Marshall Bingham, |
|
|
and a great-grandchild, Bryn Leigh LaPlant; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Boerner |
|
|
earned the Distinguished Flying Cross among other medals during his |
|
|
notable 30-year career in the U.S. Army and has since worked as a |
|
|
land appraiser; Mrs. Boerner has been a devoted homemaker and a |
|
|
professional picture framer; the couple are committed Republicans, |
|
|
with Mrs. Boerner serving as chair of the Republican Party of Camp |
|
|
County and Mr. Boerner having served as State Republican Executive |
|
|
Committee chair of Senate District 1; in addition, they are valued |
|
|
members of Holy Cross Catholic Church, which they helped to |
|
|
organize and build; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Both Mr. and Mrs. Boerner have received numerous |
|
|
accolades for their generosity and dedication; Mr. Boerner has been |
|
|
named Camp County Man of the Year, and Mrs. Boerner was honored for |
|
|
volunteering more than 2,000 hours with Army Community Service; in |
|
|
their leisure, they enjoy a variety of pursuits, especially |
|
|
spending time in the company of their loved ones; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Boerner have enjoyed five decades of |
|
|
abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an |
|
|
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|
|
commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Dennis and Maggie Boerner on their |
|
|
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Boerner as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
