R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Houston Community College is dedicating the opening |
|
|
of its new Missouri City campus on May 26, 2009; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A 45,000-square-foot academic center serves as the |
|
|
cornerstone of the 50-acre master-planned site; this fine |
|
|
educational facility accommodates 2,162 students in 22 classrooms, |
|
|
13 lecture rooms, 7 multipurpose rooms, and a science laboratory; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The school is also partnering with the community and |
|
|
Fort Bend County to provide students and local residents with a |
|
|
joint library facility; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A college education is often the foundation on which |
|
|
a successful career is built, and Houston Community College is to be |
|
|
commended for its efforts to bring this opportunity within the |
|
|
reach of students throughout the Bayou City and beyond; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the grand opening of the Missouri |
|
|
City campus of Houston Community College and extend to all those |
|
|
associated with the institution sincere best wishes for much |
|
|
success in the years to come; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the campus as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
