R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Chief Rick McCoy of the Crane Police Department is
  retiring on May 31, 2009, after an outstanding career in law
  enforcement that has spanned more than three decades; and
         WHEREAS, Since joining the Crane Police Department 25 years
  ago, Chief McCoy has provided exceptional leadership and set an
  outstanding example of professional integrity; throughout his
  distinguished tenure, he has exemplified the highest ideals of the
  law enforcement profession and contributed immeasurably to the
  safety and well-being of his fellow Texans; and
         WHEREAS, Chief McCoy and his wife, Pattie, have been valued
  residents of the city of Crane; they are leaving the Lone Star State
  for Arkansas, and their presence and many contributions will be
  deeply missed by their friends and neighbors; and
         WHEREAS, The dedicated service of Rick McCoy has greatly
  benefited his community, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his
  notable accomplishments as he prepares to embark on the next
  chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Chief Rick McCoy for his years of
  service to the Crane Police Department and extend to him sincere
  best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Chief McCoy as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
