R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Garrett Jaynes of Boy Scouts of America Troop No. |
|
|
497 in Waco has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this |
|
|
accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant |
|
|
honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the |
|
|
scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding |
|
|
criteria, Mr. Jaynes earned the requisite 21 merit badges and, for |
|
|
his Eagle Scout project, constructed horseshoe pits at Warren Park |
|
|
in Hewitt; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The son of Mark and Marla Jaynes of Hewitt, this fine |
|
|
young Texan is a senior at Midway High School in Waco; he plans to |
|
|
attend The University of Texas at Arlington and major in mechanical |
|
|
engineering; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Jaynes has demonstrated outstanding leadership |
|
|
ability throughout his scouting career, having served his troop as |
|
|
senior patrol leader and junior assistant scoutmaster; he is also |
|
|
an ordeal member of the Order of the Arrow and a recipient of the |
|
|
Arrow of Light Award; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, His dedication to excellence and perseverance in the |
|
|
pursuit of his goals have proven Eagle Scout Jaynes worthy to stand |
|
|
among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a |
|
|
job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Garrett Jaynes on achieving the |
|
|
rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Jaynes as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
