R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
by a great and enduring love, Al and Mary Helen Dees of Waco |
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 5, 2008; and |
|
WHEREAS, Al Dees and the former Mary Helen Tate were united in |
|
matrimony at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Waco on that special day in |
|
1958; through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage |
|
that has been made even richer with the addition of two children, |
|
Vicki and Clay, and two granddaughters, Ashley Roberts and Raven |
|
Dees; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Dees worked for Owens-Illinois for 40 years |
|
before his retirement; Mrs. Dees devoted her attention to her |
|
family while her children were young and later co-owned Mary's |
|
Sugar and Spice Bakery; the couple enjoy a longtime membership at |
|
the Family of Faith Church of the Nazarene; and |
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |
|
half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
|
in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love |
|
has enabled them to meet life's challenges with grace and optimism; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Al and Mary Helen Dees on the |
|
occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them |
|
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Dees as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
