R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
  by a great and enduring love, Al and Mary Helen Dees of Waco
  celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 5, 2008; and
         WHEREAS, Al Dees and the former Mary Helen Tate were united in
  matrimony at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Waco on that special day in
  1958; through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage
  that has been made even richer with the addition of two children,
  Vicki and Clay, and two granddaughters, Ashley Roberts and Raven
  Dees; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Dees worked for Owens-Illinois for 40 years
  before his retirement; Mrs. Dees devoted her attention to her
  family while her children were young and later co-owned Mary's
  Sugar and Spice Bakery; the couple enjoy a longtime membership at
  the Family of Faith Church of the Nazarene; and
         WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past
  half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant
  in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love
  has enabled them to meet life's challenges with grace and optimism;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Al and Mary Helen Dees on the
  occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them
  sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Dees as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
