R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Barry Gann was honored by the Robinson Police
  Department in May 2008 for his notable efforts in behalf of his
  community; and
         WHEREAS, The department hosts an annual awards program to pay
  tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated an exemplary
  commitment to the city of Robinson; the honorees-everyday citizens
  as well as public officers and employees-have reached above and
  beyond in serving their fellow residents and the greater community,
  and by acknowledging their selfless actions, the Robinson PD is
  promoting volunteerism among all of its citizens; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Gann played a significant role in the search for
  an elderly woman who had become confused and wandered away from
  home, and he fittingly received a Distinguished Service Award for
  his concern and assistance during that critical situation; and
         WHEREAS, With the utmost dedication and compassion, Barry
  Gann has contributed to the safety and well-being of another
  citizen, and it is indeed a pleasure to recognize him for a job well
  done; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Barry Gann on his receipt of a
  Distinguished Service Award from the Robinson Police Department and
  extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and
  happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Gann as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
