R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love |
|
|
and shared experiences, and John and Marillyn Nystrom of Crawford |
|
|
celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on August 27, |
|
|
2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, "D. J." Nystrom and the former Marillyn Burdsal were |
|
|
joined in matrimony in 1947 in a ceremony held at St. Mary's Church |
|
|
of the Assumption in Waco; their rewarding marriage has been |
|
|
blessed with a treasured family, including eight children, David |
|
|
Nystrom and his wife, Nancy, Paul Nystrom and his wife, Carol, Anne |
|
|
Borsellino and her husband, David, Mark Nystrom and his wife, Kris, |
|
|
Greg Nystrom and his wife, Johanna, Kathryn Grant and her husband, |
|
|
Rick, Patrick Nystrom and his wife, Stephanie, and the late Teresa |
|
|
Shelton, as well as 21 grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. and Mrs. |
|
|
Nystrom founded Nystrom & Associates in 1964, and after retiring 19 |
|
|
years later, they formed a new company, Spring Valley Miniature |
|
|
Horses, raising and showing miniature horses until 1995; Mrs. |
|
|
Nystrom was also associate editor of the international magazine |
|
|
Miniature Horse World for 18 years; more recently, Mr. Nystrom has |
|
|
built and remodeled homes; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, These valued members of St. Louis Catholic Church |
|
|
have contributed to their community through their volunteer service |
|
|
with the Crawford Senior Center Meals On Wheels program; in |
|
|
addition to spending time with their family, they enjoy a variety of |
|
|
interests, among them traveling, cruising, gardening, and |
|
|
woodworking; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Nystrom have enjoyed more than six |
|
|
decades of abiding love and affection for one another, and they are |
|
|
among an exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a |
|
|
lasting commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate D. J. and Marillyn Nystrom on their |
|
|
60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Nystrom as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
