R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, T. J. and Jerrie Lynn Corbitt of Waco celebrated
  their 50th wedding anniversary on September 7, 2007, marking a
  noteworthy milestone in the rewarding relationship they have
  shared; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Corbitt and the former Jerrie Lynn Davis became
  friends in the third grade after their families both moved to
  Winnsboro; they exchanged the vows of matrimony there in 1957, and
  since that special day, they have found in each other a loving life
  partner; and
         WHEREAS, Both graduates of Winnsboro High School and Texas
  A&M University in Commerce, where they earned teaching degrees, Mr.
  and Mrs. Corbitt pursued varied careers; Mrs. Corbitt worked as a
  home demonstration agent with the Texas Extension Service in Lamar
  County before teaching junior high students in Winnsboro, Waco, and
  McGregor; Mr. Corbitt served as a high school teacher, a basketball
  coach, and a high school principal and went on to work as an
  agricultural entomologist; he later spent 25 years employed with a
  chemical company and most recently worked for Big Creek
  Construction Company; Mrs. Corbitt retired after nearly three
  decades as an educator; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Corbitt count among their blessings a
  fine family that includes a daughter, Kristi Lynn Miller and her
  husband, Wade Miller, a son, Randall Jay Corbitt, and three
  grandsons, Kade Corbitt Miller, Kullen Walter Miller, and Kanon
  Wade Miller; and
         WHEREAS, For more than half a century, T. J. and Jerrie Lynn
  Corbitt have brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and
  devotion, and it is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring
  commitment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate T. J. and Jerrie Lynn Corbitt on
  their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best
  wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Corbitt as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
