R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned five |
|
|
decades, Bennie and Carolyn Blakey of Mineola celebrated their 50th |
|
|
wedding anniversary on February 14, 2009; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Bennie Blakey and the former Carolyn Connelly |
|
|
exchanged the vows of matrimony in Plano on that special day in |
|
|
1959, and over the course of their marriage, they have found in each |
|
|
other a devoted life partner; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Blakey count among their blessings a |
|
|
fine family that includes two children and their spouses, Brian and |
|
|
April Blakey and Beth and Bobby Johnson, as well as four |
|
|
grandchildren; Mr. Blakey retired from Texas Instruments after 35 |
|
|
years, and Mrs. Blakey enjoyed a 30-year career in the banking |
|
|
industry; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Looking back over the past half-century, Bennie and |
|
|
Carolyn Blakey can savor a wealth of cherished family memories and |
|
|
know that the strength of their love and commitment ensures that |
|
|
more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Bennie and Carolyn Blakey on their |
|
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Blakey as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
