R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Horace and Mattie Johnson of Houston |
|
|
are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on April 25, 2009; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson exchanged the vows of matrimony |
|
|
on that special day in 1959, and over the course of their marriage, |
|
|
they have found in one another a devoted life partner; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Longtime residents of Houston, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson |
|
|
count among their blessings a fine family that includes 4 children, |
|
|
Kevin, Phillip, Horace, and Jessie, and 14 grandchildren, La |
|
|
Tarsha, Jermaine, Aqua, Phillip, Chadwick, Kevin, Jessica, Taylor, |
|
|
Trevon, Inayah, Nancy, Malik, Trinity, and Charles; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |
|
|
half-century, Horace and Mattie Johnson have remained constant in |
|
|
their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has |
|
|
enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace |
|
|
and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Horace and Mattie Johnson on the |
|
|
occasion of their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Johnson as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
