R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Willie and Maxine Hammonds of Waco |
|
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 18, 2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Willie Hammonds and the former Maxine Brennan were |
|
|
united in matrimony at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption |
|
|
in West on that special day in 1957; through the years, they have |
|
|
nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with |
|
|
the addition of 4 children, Mark Hammonds and his wife, Lisa, |
|
|
Cynthia Castro and her husband, Jim, John Hammonds and his wife, Jo |
|
|
Anne, and Chuck Hammonds and his wife, Kellie; the couple have also |
|
|
shared in the joy of welcoming 10 grandchildren into their family; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Now retired, Mr. Hammonds worked in the banking |
|
|
business for 50 years, and Mrs. Hammonds devotes her time to |
|
|
volunteering at St. Louis Catholic Church and Providence Health |
|
|
Center; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |
|
|
half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
|
|
in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love |
|
|
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with |
|
|
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Willie and Maxine Hammonds on |
|
|
reaching this joyful milestone in their marriage and extend to them |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Hammonds as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
