R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Jack and Cathryn Garrison of Elm Mott |
|
|
celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on September 18, 2007; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Garrison were united in matrimony on |
|
|
that special day in 1937; through the years, they have nurtured a |
|
|
fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the |
|
|
addition of two sons and their wives, Jack and his wife, Marianne, |
|
|
and Larry and his wife, Chandra; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Garrison retired from Texas State Technical |
|
|
College and has been a rancher and cattleman; Mrs. Garrison is a |
|
|
homemaker; the couple are members of Elm Mott United Methodist |
|
|
Church; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |
|
|
seven decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
|
|
in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love |
|
|
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with |
|
|
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jack and Cathryn Garrison on |
|
|
reaching the notable milestone of their 70th wedding anniversary |
|
|
and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Garrison as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
