R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love
  and shared experiences, and Melton and Julie Connell of Woodway
  celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on August 14,
  2007; and
         WHEREAS, Melton O. Connell and the former Julie Halencak were
  joined in matrimony at First Baptist Church in Quanah on that
  special day in 1947; through the years, they have been blessed with
  a treasured family that includes a son, Michael Connell and his
  wife, Cindy, and their grandchildren, Cari Edison and her husband,
  Ricky, Cayce Connell, and Chance Connell; and
         WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Connell
  is retired from the Waco Weather Bureau as a meteorologist and
  Mrs. Connell worked as a physician's office nurse until her
  retirement; in addition to meeting their career and family
  responsibilities, they have been members of First Baptist Church of
  Woodway since 1958, and Mrs. Connell has taught Sunday school for
  most of those years; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Connell have enjoyed more than six
  decades of abiding love and affection for one another, and they are
  among an exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a
  lasting commitment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Melton and Julie Connell on the
  noteworthy milestone of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend
  to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Connell as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
