R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned more |
|
|
than half a century, Bill and Stella Ellis of Waco celebrated their |
|
|
60th wedding anniversary on August 30, 2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Bill Ellis and the former Stella Logan exchanged the |
|
|
vows of matrimony in Dallas on that special day in 1947, and over |
|
|
the course of their marriage, they have found in each other a |
|
|
devoted life partner; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis count among their blessings a |
|
|
daughter, Linda, with whom they treasure sharing the many special |
|
|
occasions of life; Mr. Ellis answered his nation's call to duty with |
|
|
service in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and retired |
|
|
after 39 years with Central Freight Lines; Mrs. Ellis worked at |
|
|
Central Freight Lines and for the Army and Air Force Exchange |
|
|
Service in Dallas; the couple are members of Western Heights |
|
|
Baptist Church in Waco; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Bill and Stella Ellis have brought laughter, |
|
|
kindness, and devotion to their marriage, and it is a pleasure to |
|
|
honor them for their enduring commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Bill and Stella Ellis on the |
|
|
notable milestone of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to |
|
|
them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Ellis as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
