H.R. No. 1688
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned more
  than half a century, Bill and Stella Ellis of Waco celebrated their
  60th wedding anniversary on August 30, 2007; and
         WHEREAS, Bill Ellis and the former Stella Logan exchanged the
  vows of matrimony in Dallas on that special day in 1947, and over
  the course of their marriage, they have found in each other a
  devoted life partner; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis count among their blessings a
  daughter, Linda, with whom they treasure sharing the many special
  occasions of life; Mr. Ellis answered his nation's call to duty with
  service in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and retired
  after 39 years with Central Freight Lines; Mrs. Ellis worked at
  Central Freight Lines and for the Army and Air Force Exchange
  Service in Dallas; the couple are members of Western Heights
  Baptist Church in Waco; and
         WHEREAS, Bill and Stella Ellis have brought laughter,
  kindness, and devotion to their marriage, and it is a pleasure to
  honor them for their enduring commitment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Bill and Stella Ellis on the
  notable milestone of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to
  them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Ellis as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
