R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at |
|
the untimely loss of Rosa Maria Pena Marquez of Weslaco, who passed |
|
away on September 14, 2008, at the age of 55; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on March 16, 1953, to Porfirio and Elvira Pena |
|
in Weslaco, the former Rosa Pena graduated from Weslaco High School |
|
and worked for many years as a secretary at F. D. Roosevelt and |
|
Louise Black Elementary Schools in the Weslaco Independent School |
|
District; and |
|
WHEREAS, She was joined in marriage with Ignacio "Nacho" |
|
Marquez, Jr., and they became the proud parents of two sons, Roman |
|
and Julius; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although she is deeply missed, Rosa Marquez left her |
|
loved ones with countless memories of happy times spent in her |
|
company, and she will be forever remembered by those who held her |
|
dear; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Rosa Maria Pena |
|
Marquez and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to |
|
her husband, Ignacio Marquez, Jr.; to her sons, Roman Gabriel |
|
Marquez and Julius Jordan Marquez; to her brothers, Felipe, Carlos, |
|
Porfirio, Robert, Rolando, Jaime, and George Pena; to her sisters, |
|
Estela Pena and Dora Cavazos; to her mother-in-law, Susana Marquez; |
|
and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Rosa Maria |
|
Pena Marquez. |
