R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at
  the untimely loss of Rosa Maria Pena Marquez of Weslaco, who passed
  away on September 14, 2008, at the age of 55; and
         WHEREAS, Born on March 16, 1953, to Porfirio and Elvira Pena
  in Weslaco, the former Rosa Pena graduated from Weslaco High School
  and worked for many years as a secretary at F. D. Roosevelt and
  Louise Black Elementary Schools in the Weslaco Independent School
  District; and
         WHEREAS, She was joined in marriage with Ignacio "Nacho" 
  Marquez, Jr., and they became the proud parents of two sons, Roman
  and Julius; and
         WHEREAS, Although she is deeply missed, Rosa Marquez left her
  loved ones with countless memories of happy times spent in her
  company, and she will be forever remembered by those who held her
  dear; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Rosa Maria Pena
  Marquez and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to
  her husband, Ignacio Marquez, Jr.; to her sons, Roman Gabriel
  Marquez and Julius Jordan Marquez; to her brothers, Felipe, Carlos,
  Porfirio, Robert, Rolando, Jaime, and George Pena; to her sisters,
  Estela Pena and Dora Cavazos; to her mother-in-law, Susana Marquez;
  and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Rosa Maria
  Pena Marquez.
