R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their
  memories of Lisa Veitenheimer of Keller, who passed away on April 7,
  2009, at the age of 49; and
         WHEREAS, Born on May 4, 1959, in Madison, Wisconsin, Mrs.
  Veitenheimer earned her bachelor's degree in education from
  Midwestern State University in 1981; she went on to serve with
  distinction as a second-grade teacher in the Eanes Independent
  School District in Austin; and
         WHEREAS, After a notable 17-year tenure, she relocated to
  Canyon, where she worked as a substitute teacher and her husband,
  James Veitenheimer, served as superintendent; the couple moved
  again in 2004, when Mr. Veitenheimer was named superintendent of
  Keller schools; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Veitenheimer had a passion for education and a
  gift for inspiring others, and she assisted many people who were in
  need of extra help; she devoted many hours to mentoring new teachers
  and to tutoring struggling students, seeking to enhance the
  abilities and engage the minds of all she met; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Veitenheimer also shared her time with the
  Keller ISD Education Foundation, which provides grants to teachers
  and significant educational benefits to students; a founding member
  of its board of directors, she aided in the formation and operation
  of the foundation from 2004 until the time of her passing; and
         WHEREAS, Lisa Veitenheimer's dynamic presence and positive
  spirit brought enthusiasm and ideas to Keller schools; she
  encouraged and supported teachers and students to grow in their
  scholastic endeavors, to think in new ways, and to offer their best
  efforts each day; she lived a caring and purposeful life, and she
  will always be remembered with great affection and admiration; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Lisa Veitenheimer and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
  husband, James Veitenheimer; to her daughter, Allison
  Veitenheimer; to her parents, John and Diane Franklin; and to her
  other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lisa
  Veitenheimer.
