R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Elisa A.
  Flores of El Paso, who died on April 9, 2009, at the age of 81; and
         WHEREAS, "Licha" Flores was born in Torreon, Mexico, on
  November 28, 1927, to Maria and Ladislado Alvarez; she was joined in
  matrimony to Celso Flores, and together they were blessed with a
  loving family that grew to include six sons and two daughters; and
         WHEREAS, Until her retirement, Mrs. Flores worked at Hotel
  Dieu Hospital and at the Ysleta Independent School District; a firm
  believer in education, she earned her GED at the age of 55, and she
  took great pride in the academic and professional achievements of
  her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Flores was also a woman of strong spiritual
  beliefs and a devoted Catholic, and she dedicated her life
  selflessly to her church and her family; and
         WHEREAS, Although Elisa Flores is no longer with us, the
  memory of her kindness, integrity, and devotion will forever be
  treasured by all those who knew and loved her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Elisa A. Flores and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
  sons, Rudolfo Flores and his wife, Sylvia, Victor Flores and his
  wife, Juana, David Flores and his wife, Cindy, Humberto Flores and
  his wife, Susie, Ismael Flores and his wife, Imelda, and Celso
  Flores, Jr., and his wife, Cleo; to her daughters, Elsa Reyes and
  her husband, Richard, and Mary Lopez and her husband, Juan; to her
  sister, Esperanza Alvarez de Sanchez; to her 20 grandchildren and
  12 great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives and friends;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Elisa A.
  Flores.
