R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Jerry and Nadyne Harris of The |
|
|
Woodlands are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on August |
|
|
6, 2009; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Jerry Harris and the former Nadyne Bennight were |
|
|
united in matrimony in Ingleside on that special day in 1949; |
|
|
through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that |
|
|
has been made even richer with the addition of two daughters and |
|
|
four grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Harris retired as director of safety for Conoco, |
|
|
and Mrs. Harris worked for Southern Pacific Railroad; the couple |
|
|
are members of the senior Sunday school class at The Woodlands |
|
|
United Methodist Church; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past six |
|
|
decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in |
|
|
their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has |
|
|
enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace |
|
|
and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jerry and Nadyne Harris on the |
|
|
occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Harris as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
