R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Ernesto J. Dominguez has received the John E. Cook |
|
|
Pro Bono Award from the Hidalgo County Bar Association; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born in Hondo on August 11, 1955, Ernesto Dominguez |
|
|
went on to earn a bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at |
|
|
Austin in 1976 and a law degree from the University of Notre Dame in |
|
|
1986, and while he was a student, he was a member of Phi Alpha Delta |
|
|
Law Fraternity, International; in 1987, he was admitted to the |
|
|
State Bar of Texas, and he is currently an attorney with Orendain & |
|
|
Dominguez, a McAllen firm specializing in general civil trial |
|
|
practice, personal injury, insurance law, and family law; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Dominguez has maintained |
|
|
affiliations with the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the American |
|
|
Association for Justice, the Hidalgo County Bar Association, the |
|
|
State Bar of Texas, and the College of the State Bar of Texas, and he |
|
|
served on the board of directors of Texas RioGrande Legal Aid from |
|
|
1998 through 2002; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, he enjoys the love and |
|
|
support of his wife, Iris Aguilar Dominguez, who is also a lawyer |
|
|
and practices with the office of the city attorney in McAllen; the |
|
|
couple have been blessed with a daughter, Paloma Alexandra |
|
|
Dominguez, a student at Our Lady of Sorrows, and Mr. Dominguez has |
|
|
served as president of the school's advisory council; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, With the utmost dedication to his profession and to |
|
|
his community, Mr. Dominguez has garnered the lasting respect and |
|
|
admiration of his colleagues and fellow citizens alike, and he may |
|
|
indeed reflect with great pride on his notable achievements and |
|
|
contributions; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ernesto J. Dominguez on his receipt |
|
|
of the John E. Cook Pro Bono Award from the Hidalgo County Bar |
|
|
Association and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Dominguez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
