R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Sidney and Betty Henson of Waco |
|
|
reached a significant milestone when they celebrated their 60th |
|
|
wedding anniversary on May 1, 2008; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Henson and the former Betty Nell Marlow were |
|
|
united in matrimony in Fort Worth in 1948; through the years, they |
|
|
have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer |
|
|
with the addition of their daughter, Linda Kay Friedholm, and her |
|
|
husband, David, and their granddaughter, Amber Leigh Malcolm, and |
|
|
her husband, Todd; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Henson worked for Swift Meat Company for 40 |
|
|
years and retired in 1989; Mrs. Henson retired from ARA Food Service |
|
|
at Baylor University in 1994; residents of Waco for 52 years, they |
|
|
attend Primrose Drive Baptist Church; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past six |
|
|
decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in |
|
|
their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has |
|
|
enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace |
|
|
and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Sidney and Betty Henson on their |
|
|
60th wedding anniversary in 2008 and extend to them sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Henson as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
