R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Elton and Esther Manthei of Robinson |
|
|
celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on April 24, 2008; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Elton J. Manthei and the former Esther Lange were |
|
|
united in matrimony at St. Paul Church in Marlin on that special day |
|
|
in 1943; through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling |
|
|
marriage that has been made even richer with the addition of two |
|
|
sons, Elton and Gary, and their grandchildren and |
|
|
great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Manthei answered his nation's call to duty with |
|
|
service in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked as a |
|
|
mechanic until his retirement; Mrs. Manthei retired from Marathon |
|
|
Battery in 1964, and the couple moved to Robinson that same year; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past 65 |
|
|
years, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in |
|
|
their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has |
|
|
enabled them to meet life's challenges with grace and optimism; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Elton and Esther Manthei on their |
|
|
65th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Manthei as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
