H.R. No. 1801
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
  by a great and enduring love, Elton and Esther Manthei of Robinson
  celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on April 24, 2008; and
         WHEREAS, Elton J. Manthei and the former Esther Lange were
  united in matrimony at St. Paul Church in Marlin on that special day
  in 1943; through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling
  marriage that has been made even richer with the addition of two
  sons, Elton and Gary, and their grandchildren and
  great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Manthei answered his nation's call to duty with
  service in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked as a
  mechanic until his retirement; Mrs. Manthei retired from Marathon
  Battery in 1964, and the couple moved to Robinson that same year;
  and
         WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past 65
  years, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in
  their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has
  enabled them to meet life's challenges with grace and optimism;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Elton and Esther Manthei on their
  65th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
  continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Manthei as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
