R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, L. D. and Barbara Parsons of Waco |
|
|
celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on August 28, 2008; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Parsons were united in matrimony in |
|
|
Mississippi in 1943; through the years, they have nurtured a |
|
|
fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the |
|
|
addition of two children, Merle Parsons and his wife, Barbara, and |
|
|
Vickie Gibbs and her husband, Tommy, as well as five grandchildren |
|
|
and six great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Parsons answered his nation's call to duty with |
|
|
service in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from |
|
|
Sinclair-Arco in 1985; Mrs. Parsons is a homemaker; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past 65 |
|
|
years, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in |
|
|
their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has |
|
|
enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace |
|
|
and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate L. D. and Barbara Parsons on their |
|
|
65th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Parsons as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
