R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
by a great and enduring love, Bert and Mary Cosby of Midland |
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 25, 2009; and |
|
WHEREAS, Bert Cosby and the former Mary Johnson were united |
|
in matrimony in Big Spring on that special day in 1959; through the |
|
years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made |
|
even richer with the addition of four children, eight |
|
grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Longtime residents of Midland, Mr. and Mrs. Cosby |
|
enjoy membership at Second Baptist Church; Mr. Cosby is retired |
|
from the oil business, and Mrs. Cosby has been a dedicated homemaker |
|
throughout their marriage; and |
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |
|
half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
|
in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love |
|
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with |
|
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Bert and Mary Cosby on the occasion |
|
of their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best |
|
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Cosby as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
