R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Kim Quirk has earned distinction through her service
  on the Board of Trustees of the Richardson Independent School
  District; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Quirk has been a member of the RISD board since
  2005, and she currently serves as the board's president; she has
  also served on the advisory board for RISD Texas Scholars and the
  District Planning and Superintendent Search Committees; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of J. J. Pearce High School in the
  Richardson ISD, Mrs. Quirk has been a RISD volunteer for 16 years,
  participating in the PTA, Destination ImagiNation, and the booster
  club, among other activities; she is also active with the
  Richardson Chamber of Commerce, the Richardson YMCA, and Collin
  County Community College; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Quirk graduated cum laude from Southern
  Methodist University and is senior counsel at Sunwest
  Communications; and
         WHEREAS, The active engagement of public-spirited citizens
  is vital to the successful governance of school systems throughout
  the Lone Star State, and Kim Quirk's dedication and commitment have
  greatly benefited the students of Richardson ISD; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Kim Quirk for her service to the
  Richardson ISD Board of Trustees and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for continued success in her important work; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Quirk as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
