R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The family and friends of Waco resident Lorenza |
|
|
Garcia were deeply saddened by the passing of this esteemed woman on |
|
|
February 28, 2008, at the age of 100; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born on June 13, 1907, Mrs. Garcia was a native of |
|
|
Mexico; one of 11 children, she grew up in the Lone Star State, |
|
|
living in San Marcos before moving to Waco; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Garcia found great joy in her treasured family; |
|
|
generous and kind, she cared for her mother, who was also blessed |
|
|
with a long life, until her mother's death at the age of 112; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This compassionate woman enriched the lives of many |
|
|
during her journey on this earth, and memories of her will be |
|
|
forever cherished by those who were privileged to share in the |
|
|
warmth of her affection and friendship; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Lorenza Garcia and |
|
|
extend sincere sympathy to her loved ones; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lorenza |
|
|
Garcia. |
