H.R. No. 1848

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced by a great and enduring love, Harry and Sue Ferrell of Lorena celebrated the remarkable occasion of their 70th wedding anniversary on July 29, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Ferrell were united in matrimony on that memorable day in 1938; through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer as their family has grown to include their sons, Michael Ferrell and Billy Ferrell and his wife, Linda, as well as their four grandchildren, Cameron, Carrie, Amy, and Mark, and five great-grandchildren, Coty, Hunter, Hailey, Connor, and Caiden; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Ferrell retired from Exxon Pipeline Company after nearly four decades of outstanding service, while Mrs. Ferrell has been a homemaker throughout the couple's marriage; valued members of their community, the Ferrells are congregants of Brazos Meadows Baptist Church; and

WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past 70 years, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to Harry and Sue Ferrell and extend to them sincere congratulations on their 70th wedding anniversary; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Ferrell as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
