R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Harry and Sue Ferrell of Lorena |
|
|
celebrated the remarkable occasion of their 70th wedding |
|
|
anniversary on July 29, 2008; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Ferrell were united in matrimony on |
|
|
that memorable day in 1938; through the years, they have nurtured a |
|
|
fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer as their family |
|
|
has grown to include their sons, Michael Ferrell and Billy Ferrell |
|
|
and his wife, Linda, as well as their four grandchildren, Cameron, |
|
|
Carrie, Amy, and Mark, and five great-grandchildren, Coty, Hunter, |
|
|
Hailey, Connor, and Caiden; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Ferrell retired from Exxon Pipeline Company |
|
|
after nearly four decades of outstanding service, while Mrs. |
|
|
Ferrell has been a homemaker throughout the couple's marriage; |
|
|
valued members of their community, the Ferrells are congregants of |
|
|
Brazos Meadows Baptist Church; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past 70 |
|
|
years, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in |
|
|
their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has |
|
|
enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace |
|
|
and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to Harry and Sue Ferrell and extend |
|
|
to them sincere congratulations on their 70th wedding anniversary; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Ferrell as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
