R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Dale and Shirley DeWitt of China |
|
|
Spring celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 29, 2008; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dale W. DeWitt and the former Shirley Nichols were |
|
|
united in matrimony in DeQueen, Arkansas, in 1958; through the |
|
|
years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made |
|
|
even richer with the addition of their children and their spouses, |
|
|
Randy and Mary DeWitt, Kathi and Steve Perry, Donald DeWitt, Jay and |
|
|
Jana DeWitt, and the late Gary DeWitt; they have also been blessed |
|
|
with 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. DeWitt is a general contractor and Mrs. DeWitt |
|
|
is a homemaker and grandmother; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |
|
|
half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
|
|
in their commitment to one another, and this milestone anniversary |
|
|
was a testament to the strength of their love and their ability to |
|
|
meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and optimism; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Dale and Shirley DeWitt on their |
|
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. DeWitt as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
