R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned half a |
|
century, David and Ann Cox of Lorena celebrated their 50th wedding |
|
anniversary on January 5, 2008; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Cox exchanged the vows of matrimony on |
|
that day in 1958, and over the course of their marriage, they have |
|
found in each other a devoted life partner; they count among their |
|
blessings a fine family that includes a son, Gary, a daughter, Lori, |
|
and a son-in-law, Rick, with whom they treasure sharing the many |
|
special occasions of life; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Cox family spent some 20 years in the U.S. Air |
|
Force, living in Japan and Thailand, and on a number of American |
|
bases; after retiring from the military in 1976, they returned to |
|
Lorena, where Mr. Cox enjoyed a second career with a major hotel |
|
chain; Mrs. Cox worked with the Lorena United Methodist Church |
|
Child Care Center for 16 years and retired as its director in 1997; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Looking back over the past five decades, David and |
|
Ann Cox can savor a wealth of cherished memories and know that the |
|
strength of their love and commitment ensures that many more joyful |
|
times await them; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate David and Ann Cox on their 50th |
|
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Cox as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
