R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Jimmy Goolsbee of Arlington was honored by the
  Cherokee County Soil and Water Conservation District on April 24,
  2009, for his outstanding accomplishment in sustainable forestry
  through the conservation of soil, water, plants, and related
  resources; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Goolsbee inherited more than 100 acres of prime
  timberland, located just outside of Rusk, that his
  great-grandfather once leased to sharecroppers in the early 20th
  century; Mr. Goolsbee became involved in oversight of the land
  following the death of his father and has since focused much of his
  efforts on reclamation; and
         WHEREAS, A member of the Texas Forest Association, Mr.
  Goolsbee has used money from sales to clean and replant the
  property, and he has worked to establish stream management zones
  around Bean's Creek, which runs through a large part of his acreage;
  and
         WHEREAS, Jimmy Goolsbee's dedication to the health of his
  family's land is commendable, and it is indeed fitting to honor him
  for his contributions to the rich agricultural tradition of East
  Texas; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Jimmy Goolsbee on his receipt of a
  Cherokee County Soil and Water Conservation District award and
  extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Goolsbee as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
