R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Jerry and Ruth McKethan of Waco |
|
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 1, 2008; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Jerry McKethan and the former Ruth Sandifer were |
|
|
united in matrimony at First Baptist Church in Robinson on that |
|
|
special day in 1958; through the years, they have nurtured a |
|
|
fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the |
|
|
addition of their children, Darren and his wife, Lisa, and Kevin and |
|
|
his wife, Heather, and four grandchildren, John-Mark, Will, |
|
|
Presley, and Dane; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. McKethan worked as a claims investigator with a |
|
|
local truck line before becoming senior partner of McKethan |
|
|
Builders, a family partnership in residential construction, and a |
|
|
Realtor with First Realtors; Mrs. McKethan is a homemaker; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Though innumerable changes have taken place in the |
|
|
world over the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife |
|
|
have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the |
|
|
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges |
|
|
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jerry and Ruth McKethan on their |
|
|
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. McKethan as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
