R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, April 22, 2009, marked the 65th wedding anniversary |
|
|
of Jean and James Pickney of Wills Point, and this joyous event |
|
|
provides a fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable |
|
|
journey together as husband and wife; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Pickney were joined in matrimony on |
|
|
that special day in 1944; through the years, they have been blessed |
|
|
with a treasured family that includes three children, Sarah, James, |
|
|
and Edward; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Pickney is retired from his career as a printer, |
|
|
while Mrs. Pickney worked for a hospital supply company before her |
|
|
retirement; now enjoying their life together as Texans, the couple |
|
|
moved to Wills Point from Arkansas 10 years ago; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The 65 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Pickney |
|
|
have shared are eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and |
|
|
commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who |
|
|
know them; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jean and James Pickney on their |
|
|
65th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Pickney as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
