R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Nourish America rendered invaluable aid to
  countless individuals in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike; and
         WHEREAS, After this catastrophic event left more than two
  million people without power, Nourish America responded quickly in
  order to ensure that the residents of Northwest Houston were able to
  have their vital need for nutrition and water met; and
         WHEREAS, Led by executive director Michael Morton, the group
  secured truckloads of supplies from its donors, and it collaborated
  with Office Depot and the National Foundation for Women Legislators
  to establish distribution centers, where they provided nutritional
  products and hygiene items to thousands of hurricane survivors and
  emergency workers; and
         WHEREAS, Times of great crisis often inspire noble actions,
  and Hurricane Ike proved to be no exception, as evidenced by the
  generous support offered by Nourish America; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Nourish America for the important role it
  played in the Hurricane Ike relief and recovery effort and extend to
  all those associated with the organization sincere gratitude for
  their hard work and dedication; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Nourish America as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
