R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Daniel Bristow of Boy Scouts of America Troop 497 in
  Waco completed the requirements for attaining the rank of Eagle
  Scout, and his accomplishment was duly recognized at a Court of
  Honor held on February 23, 2008, at Baylor University; and
         WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant
  honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the
  scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding
  criteria, Mr. Bristow earned the requisite 21 merit badges and
  completed an Eagle Scout project that involved constructing a
  handicapped accessible fishing area at Lake Waco; and
         WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Bristow began in scouting as a Tiger Cub
  in first grade and has been to Canada's Northern Tier Canoe Base,
  Florida's Sea Base, Colorado's Camp Alexander, and the Continental
  Divide with the scouts; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Herb and Lanita Bristow, this fine young
  Texan demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout his
  scouting career, earning the respect and admiration of his fellow
  scouts as he worked toward the highest rank that scouting offers;
  and
         WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Bristow's dedication to excellence and
  perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to
  stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride
  on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Daniel Bristow on achieving the
  rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for
  continued success and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Bristow as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
