R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Daniel Bristow of Boy Scouts of America Troop 497 in |
|
Waco completed the requirements for attaining the rank of Eagle |
|
Scout, and his accomplishment was duly recognized at a Court of |
|
Honor held on February 23, 2008, at Baylor University; and |
|
WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant |
|
honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the |
|
scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding |
|
criteria, Mr. Bristow earned the requisite 21 merit badges and |
|
completed an Eagle Scout project that involved constructing a |
|
handicapped accessible fishing area at Lake Waco; and |
|
WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Bristow began in scouting as a Tiger Cub |
|
in first grade and has been to Canada's Northern Tier Canoe Base, |
|
Florida's Sea Base, Colorado's Camp Alexander, and the Continental |
|
Divide with the scouts; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Herb and Lanita Bristow, this fine young |
|
Texan demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout his |
|
scouting career, earning the respect and admiration of his fellow |
|
scouts as he worked toward the highest rank that scouting offers; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Bristow's dedication to excellence and |
|
perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to |
|
stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride |
|
on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Daniel Bristow on achieving the |
|
rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Bristow as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
