| WHEREAS, Chase Alexander Giles of Boy Scouts of America Troop | ||
| No. 497 in Waco has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this | ||
| accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant | ||
| honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the | ||
| scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding | ||
| criteria, Alex Giles earned 29 merit badges and successfully | ||
| completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his community; | ||
| leading a group of 18 scouts, he constructed a one-half mile | ||
| cross-country exercise course at Warren Park in Hewitt; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The son of Stan and Robyn Giles, this fine young | ||
| Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout | ||
| his scouting career, winning the respect and admiration of his | ||
| fellow scouts as he worked toward the highest rank that scouting | ||
| offers; a freshman at Midway High School, Mr. Giles is a member of | ||
| the football team and the men's choir; he is also an active member | ||
| of his youth group at First Baptist Church of Woodway; and | ||
| WHEREAS, His dedication to excellence and his perseverance in | ||
| the pursuit of his goals have proven Eagle Scout Giles worthy to | ||
| stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride | ||
| on a job well done; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Chase Alexander Giles on achieving | ||
| the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for | ||
| continued success and happiness; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Giles as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
