R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Chase Alexander Giles of Boy Scouts of America Troop |
|
No. 497 in Waco has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this |
|
accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and |
|
WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant |
|
honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the |
|
scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding |
|
criteria, Alex Giles earned 29 merit badges and successfully |
|
completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his community; |
|
leading a group of 18 scouts, he constructed a one-half mile |
|
cross-country exercise course at Warren Park in Hewitt; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Stan and Robyn Giles, this fine young |
|
Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout |
|
his scouting career, winning the respect and admiration of his |
|
fellow scouts as he worked toward the highest rank that scouting |
|
offers; a freshman at Midway High School, Mr. Giles is a member of |
|
the football team and the men's choir; he is also an active member |
|
of his youth group at First Baptist Church of Woodway; and |
|
WHEREAS, His dedication to excellence and his perseverance in |
|
the pursuit of his goals have proven Eagle Scout Giles worthy to |
|
stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride |
|
on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Chase Alexander Giles on achieving |
|
the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Giles as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
