R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, During the 81st Legislative Session, Joseph Parker
  Cullar has ably served his fellow Texans as an intern in the office
  of State Representative Chris Turner; and
         WHEREAS, Bringing excellent academic credentials to his
  position, Mr. Cullar graduated with the third-highest grade point
  average in his class at Waco High School, where he was a member of
  Leadership Waco High, Crime Stoppers, the student council, and the
  baseball and cross-country teams; his extracurricular activities
  also included Mu Alpha Theta, Mock Trial Team, Academic Decathlon,
  Rotary Challenge Team, and Waco High Young Democrats, which he led
  as a founding member and president; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Cullar has accumulated a remarkable record of
  community service; his efforts have benefited the Waco Symphony
  Association, World Hunger Relief, Inc., Christmas for the
  Courageous Community Car Wash, and the Gardening on Fifth Street
  project; in addition, he was a member of the Seventh & James Baptist
  Church youth group and Boy Scout Troop 308, through which he
  attained the rank of Eagle Scout; and
         WHEREAS, This notable young Texan has earned a number of
  honors through the years, including the Excellence in History Award
  from the Henry Downs Chapter of the Daughters of the American
  Revolution, the title of Academic Achiever, and admission to the
  National Honor Society; and
          WHEREAS, Currently, Mr. Cullar is studying government and
  political theory at The University of Texas, where he is a member of
  the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society and the Alpha Lambda Delta
  Honor Society; he is also active in the University Democrats, the
  Music and Entertainment Committee, Habitat for Humanity, and the
  Campus Environmental Center; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Cullar has performed his duties as a legislative
  intern with skill, perseverance, and dedication, and he is indeed
  deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Joseph Parker Cullar for his service as
  an intern in the office of State Representative Chris Turner and
  extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in all of
  his endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Cullar as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
