R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, April 18, 2009, marked the 60th wedding anniversary |
|
|
of Louis and Gertrude Bevacqua of Midland, and this joyous event |
|
|
provides a fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable |
|
|
journey together as husband and wife; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Louis Bevacqua and the former Gertrude Bjornson were |
|
|
joined in matrimony in 1949, at a ceremony held at Sacred Heart |
|
|
Cathedral in Dallas; through the years, they have been blessed with |
|
|
a treasured family that includes four children, Lucretia Bevacqua, |
|
|
Louis Bevacqua, Jr., Anna Brewer, and Tony Bevacqua, and two |
|
|
grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Before moving to Midland in 1970, the couple lived |
|
|
in Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, New Mexico, Dallas, and Amarillo; |
|
|
now retired, Mr. Bevacqua was a petroleum geologist and Mrs. |
|
|
Bevacqua was a registered nurse; they are members of St. Ann's |
|
|
Catholic Church; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The 60 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Bevacqua |
|
|
have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and |
|
|
commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who |
|
|
know them; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Louis and Gertrude Bevacqua on |
|
|
their 60th anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Bevacqua as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
