R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Celeste Montellano of Stephenville was selected to |
|
participate in the 2009 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership |
|
Program, and during the 81st Legislative Session, she has ably |
|
served her fellow Texans as an aide in the office of State |
|
Representative Rene Oliveira; and |
|
WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Mexican American Legislative |
|
Leadership Foundation, the program offers outstanding |
|
undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to serve as |
|
full-time policy interns in the offices of members of the Mexican |
|
American Legislative Caucus and gain experience working with the |
|
Texas Legislature; and |
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of Tarleton State University, Ms. |
|
Montellano has a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice; |
|
she serves her country as a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserve and |
|
earned a Commendation Medal in 2008, and she has benefited members |
|
of the Latino community through her work with Kappa Delta Chi; and |
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of her tenure at the State Capitol, |
|
Ms. Montellano has been of great assistance to Representative |
|
Oliveira's office, while acquiring knowledge of issues facing |
|
citizens of the Lone Star State; she has performed her duties as a |
|
legislative aide with skill, perseverance, and dedication, and she |
|
may indeed look forward to a rewarding future; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Celeste Montellano as a participant in the |
|
2009 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership Program and commend her |
|
for her notable contributions to the legislative process; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Montellano as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
