R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Samantha Dominguez of El Paso was selected to
  participate in the 2009 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership
  Program, and during the 81st Legislative Session, she has ably
  served her fellow Texans as an aide in the office of State
  Representative Chente Quintanilla; and
         WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Mexican American Legislative
  Leadership Foundation, the program offers outstanding
  undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to serve as
  full-time policy interns in the offices of members of the Mexican
  American Legislative Caucus and gain experience working with the
  Texas Legislature; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Dominguez graduated from The University of Texas
  at El Paso, where she was on the Dean's List; dedicated to giving
  back to her community, she has tutored young people through
  Advancement Via Individual Determination and the Girl Scouts of
  America and created a program to pair Hispanic students with an
  attorney from the Mexican American Bar Association; in 2008, she
  received a Gold President's Volunteer Service Award in recognition
  of her exemplary efforts; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of her tenure at the State Capitol,
  Ms. Dominguez has been of great assistance to Representative
  Quintanilla's office, while acquiring knowledge of issues facing
  citizens of the Lone Star State; she has performed her duties as a
  legislative aide with skill, perseverance, and dedication, and she
  may indeed look forward to a rewarding future; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Samantha Dominguez as a participant in the
  2009 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership Program and commend her
  for her notable contributions to the legislative process; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Dominguez as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
