R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Oscar Padilla of El Paso was selected to participate
  in the 2009 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership Program, and
  during the 81st Legislative Session, he has ably served his fellow
  Texans as an aide in the office of State Representative Pete
  Gallego; and
         WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Mexican American Legislative
  Leadership Foundation, the program offers outstanding
  undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to serve as
  full-time policy interns in the offices of members of the Mexican
  American Legislative Caucus and gain experience working with the
  Texas Legislature; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Mr.
  Padilla has also worked as an intern for the El Paso Public Service
  Board; in that position, he assisted the chief water and wastewater
  economic analyst in the creation of a 20-year water consumption
  forecast that will aid in the preservation of area water resources;
  in the summer of 2007, he participated in the Public Policy and
  International Affairs Fellowship Program at the Woodrow Wilson
  School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University;
  and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of his tenure at the State Capitol,
  Mr. Padilla has been of great assistance to Representative
  Gallego's office, while acquiring knowledge of issues facing
  citizens of the Lone Star State; he has performed his duties as a
  legislative aide with skill, perseverance, and dedication, and he
  may indeed look forward to a rewarding future; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Oscar Padilla as a participant in the 2009
  Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership Program and commend him for
  his notable contributions to the legislative process; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Padilla as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
