R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Krystal Allison Bryant was honored for her |
|
|
achievements at the Reginald Keith Guillory Scholarship Luncheon on |
|
|
April 18, 2009; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This gathering recognized 23 students who have |
|
|
distinguished themselves through their academic pursuits and civic |
|
|
involvement; the awards pay tribute to the memory of Reginald Keith |
|
|
Guillory, a student, musician, and member of Mount Pleasant Baptist |
|
|
Church in Houston, whose tragic death in an automobile accident at |
|
|
the age of 18 prompted area residents to create a scholarship fund; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A most deserving recipient of this honor, Ms. Bryant |
|
|
is the daughter of Leroy and Lena Bryant and a graduating senior at |
|
|
the High School for Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Bryant plans to study civil engineering at |
|
|
Southern University in Louisiana after her graduation, and her |
|
|
ultimate career goal is to become a certified engineer; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This fine young Texan is an exemplary member of her |
|
|
community and a source of tremendous pride to her family and |
|
|
teachers, and she may indeed look with anticipation and optimism |
|
|
toward the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Krystal Allison Bryant on her |
|
|
receipt of a 2009 Reginald Keith Guillory Scholarship and extend to |
|
|
her sincere best wishes for continued success in all of her |
|
|
endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Bryant as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
